About the Event
Whether your boat is a kayak, surfski, canoe, SUP, shell, rowboat, or pedal boat there’s a category for you.  Some experience is necessary, but you don’t have to be an expert to participate.
Both the short and long races start and finish near the boat launch. Â The 3.2-mile race goes around Turtle Rock Island. The longer 5.5-mile race goes beyond the island to a group of rocks covered in, you guess it, guano, Guano Rocks. At that point you turn around and head for the finish.
After the race there is a BBQ lunch for all the racers and volunteers. Â The award ceremony is held during lunch. Others may buy lunch for a small fee.
It promises to be a lot of fun. In the past we have had good attendance from folks west of the mountains.  This year we’re really hoping for a big WRPC turn-out.  So get together with your friends and plan to participate.
