About the Event

Whether your boat is a kayak, surfski, canoe, SUP, shell, rowboat, or pedal boat there’s a category for you.  Some experience is necessary, but you don’t have to be an expert to participate.

Both the short and long races start and finish near the boat launch.  The 3.2-mile race goes around Turtle Rock Island. The longer 5.5-mile race goes beyond the island to a group of rocks covered in, you guess it, guano, Guano Rocks. At that point you turn around and head for the finish.

After the race there is a BBQ lunch for all the racers and volunteers.  The award ceremony is held during lunch. Others may buy lunch for a small fee.

It promises to be a lot of fun. In the past we have had good attendance from folks west of the mountains.  This year we’re really hoping for a big WRPC turn-out.  So get together with your friends and plan to participate.

Start: June 10, 2023 10:00 AM Difficulty Level: 1-2 Distance: Little Turtle – 3.2 miles, Guano Rocks – 5.5 miles Pre-race meeting: 9:15 AM Directors: Hugh Owen, TJ Owen Phones: 509 669 0686, 509 421 5920
