Activities

Along those lines, we operate two boathouses and manage a large dock in the Wenatchee park system on the shores of the Columbia River. Our members have access to storage space as well as use of 25+ club-owned boats. Ample parking is available in the adjacent Linden Tree Park lot.

During the warm-weather months, we practice rowing and paddling skills on a weekly basis. But even during the winter, you'll find numerous club members out on the Columbia. We have programs for both recreational and competitive athletes, including ones for juniors.

Wenatchee Row and Paddle Club is a nonprofit organization whose financial well-being is dependent on membership dues and sponsorships, and whose direction is guided by a Strategic Plan. Membership privileges include the opportunity to participate in all club activities, access to the boathouses, and use of the dock and of club boats. Members also receive a quarterly e-newsletter.

WRPC provides access to the mid-Columbia River and its tributaries for educational, recreational, and competitive experiences using human powered watercraft.

Kayaking

Kayaking is a great way to experience the river. It can be enjoyed by everyone, novice to expert. A kayak paddle differs from a canoe or SUP paddle in that it has a blade on both ends. WRPC has a variety of both traditional, sit-in, kayaks and sit-on-top kayaks for members and guests to use. We have Kayaks for recreation and racing. Kayaks offer accessibility compared to no other. You can navigate the beautiful wildlife estuary easily in these craft.

Rowing

Rowing takes a bit more tenacity given its more technical nature.. However, the joys of rowing on the Columbia is well worth the reward. If you enjoy a excellent exercise while experiencing the waterways rowing is for you. We offer single shell for those who would like to go at their own pace as well as crew which provides an opportunity for those who want competition training and team building!

Paddling

Stand Up Paddle Boards, (SUPs) have grown dramatically in popularity in recent years and so WRPC has invested in a number of them for your use.

Canoes remain the favorite for some people as they provide a comfortable stable means of experiencing the river environment and a way to share it with another person.

Boat House

Sometimes just referred to as "The Barn", the picturesque log structure has long been a favorite of the entire community. Park visitors often take photos of the structure or have others pose in front of it. Artists draw and paint it into their landscapes.

Annex

In 2009, the Chelan County PUD leased to the Row and Paddle Club the metal building near Ninth Street and Walla Walla Avenue. The building was converted into a second boathouse to alleviate overcrowding at the original boathouse.
