About the Event

The 29th Annual Guano Rocks Regatta

The Guano Rocks Regatta is a fun human powered boat race organized by the Wenatchee Row

and Paddle Club. The race is scheduled for Saturday, October 15 th at Lincoln Rock state park.

If you paddle a kayak, or a surfski or a board or you row a shell, or rowboat, or even cycle a

pedal boat there’s a category for you. Some experience is necessary, but you don’t have to be

an expert to participate.

Both the short and long races start and finish near the boat launch. The 3.2-mile race goes

around Turtle Rock Island. The longer 5.5-mile race goes beyond the island to a group of rocks,

covered in, you guessed it, guano. Now you know how the race got its name. At that point you

turn around and head for the finish.

After the race there is a BBQ lunch for all the racers and volunteers. The award ceremony is

held during the lunch.

It promises to be a lot of fun. In the past we have had good attendance from folks west of the

mountains. This year we’re really hoping for a big WRPC turn-out. So get together with your

friends and plan to participate.
